Frequently asked questions
Is all TrueCuts meat USDA-processed?
Yes. All animals sourced through TrueCuts are processed at federally inspected USDA facilities. This ensures compliance with federal food safety standards and proper handling procedures.
How is the meat packaged and shipped?
All products are vacuum-sealed, frozen, and shipped in insulated packaging with cooling media appropriate for transit. Packaging is designed to maintain safe temperatures during standard delivery windows.
What if my box arrives warm or damaged?
If your order arrives compromised in any way, please contact us within 24 hours. We follow USDA handling guidance and will review the order to coordinate replacement eligibility. Please document packaging and product condition with photos.
Where does the meat come from?
Our animals are raised by small partner farms throughout Missouri. We work directly with farmers from start to finish, allowing them to raise livestock responsibly without industrial-scale pressure.
Do you use hormones, antibiotics, or fillers?
We do not add hormones, fillers, or solutions to any product. Antibiotic use, when applicable, follows veterinary necessity and USDA guidelines — never for growth promotion.
Is everything frozen?
Yes. Freezing is the safest and most stable way to preserve quality during transport. Meat is flash-frozen after USDA processing to maintain texture, flavor, and food safety.
How long does the meat last in the freezer?
Vacuum-sealed frozen products generally maintain peak quality for 6–12 months depending on the cut and storage conditions. Always follow USDA safe thawing and cooking guidance.
How are farmers paid?
We partner early in the raising cycle, not at the end. This provides upfront stability and fair pricing rather than commodity-market uncertainty. TrueCuts farmers are treated as partners, not suppliers.
When will my order arrive?
Orders placed before 3:00 PM CST are packed and entered into our cold-chain system the same day. Standard delivery time is approximately 72 hours, depending on carrier performance, weather conditions, and service area. During peak seasonal volume, transit windows may lengthen slightly, but all shipments are packed with USDA-compliant insulation and cooling media to maintain safe temperatures throughout transit.
Orders placed after 3 PM or on weekends are processed next business day.
Extreme heat or storms may impact final delivery timing.
Where do you deliver?
We currently deliver within within a 400 mile radius of Liberty, Missouri.
Is TrueCuts veteran or first-responder owned?
Yes. TrueCuts was founded by three friends — including two veterans and two former firefighters — who built this business on service, accountability, and stewardship.
